Property Unit Update

Private Property and Caxton Publishers have partnered in a ground-breaking initiative in the property market. After a few short months, this partnership has blossomed in leaps and bounds with notable strides being made and business inroads being recorded. What has come to the fore during this short time and what’s the outlook and focus for the next few months.

Local Property Listing Pages LIVE

Property rentals and purchases are at the heart of this partnership. In the month of July we went live with the Property Listing pages across 85 local news sites. This is the first step in advancing business gains within the property portfolio and broadening audience reach and access to property listings and information.

Farmers Weekly Integration Now LIVE

Farmers Weekly is an integral part of our current expansion efforts. This magazine is the perfect platform through which the economically vibrant agricultural community around the country access relevant information. In our efforts to serve this audience a wider variety of information and provide them with insights and access to the property market, we have successfully integrated Private Property into Farmers Weekly. This is an exciting step and development which under the capable leadership of Nyle McKee will bring great rewards and growth opportunities to all parties.

Property Content Section

Innovation has been a key driver of our collaborative and expansion efforts. Our dedicated marketing team has been working with industry property content experts to create property content for our title sites that is curated to drive Private Property’s SEO goals as well as our Publisher Property Marketing strategy. This content is supported by a paid media strategy to help drive marketing objectives. The content is published in a dedicated property section which has just recently gone live across the title sites. It is still early days, but we are observing with baited breath to see how this innovation will surpass everyone’s expectations.

A Look at Numbers

All highlighted efforts and initiatives above are best noticed in the results. We have thus far witnessed an increase in traffic to the Private Property website of up to 10%. 30% of the audience to the property pages on LBB is currently converted to the Private Property website. Total exposure for all marketing campaigns has reached an impressive R10,337,721.00.What is also significant and worth mentioning is the fact that more than half of the traffic that we refer to Private Property are new users of Private Property.

Afternoon Express Appearance

Caxton and Private Property Property are business establishments whose roots are anchored in the local communities. Being community conscious and accessible are two business values we have firmly adopted in this partnership. In our efforts to be accessible and transparent, our partnership was announced on a popular television show Afternoon Express on SABC where Nicole Vosser  and Pieter Oosthuizen gave a detailed account of this partnership.

Private Property Golf Day

Other community outreach initiatives as well as marketing and media visibility campaigns we have been involved in include the Private Property Golf Day which was organised to support Khaya Lam (my home) initiative started by Free Market Foundation. We are proud to have set up a media stand during this event and provided pictorial coverage during the event and subsequent presentation of  30 title deeds to deserving families.

Durban Property Buyer Show

Private Property also raised its profile by being a headline sponsor for the first ever Durban Property Buyer Show. This event brought together first time home buyers, property experts and industry captains to share insights, experiences and knowledge. The free ticket giveaway which ran on LNN attracted 2000 people out of the total 3000 which attended.

Commercial Update

Other activations include the rolling out of our commercial strategy which has contributed to the growth of the print supplement by 8 pages. The Johannesburg roll out started at the beginning of August with our Johannesburg North titles namely City Buzz, Alex News, Fourways Review, Midrand Reporter, North Eastern Tribune, Rosebank Killarney Gazette and Sandton Chronicle with their respective reliable teams leading this drive. Our targeted areas for the next commercial strategy roll outs are Johannesburg East, Pietermaritzburg, closely followed by Johannesburg West and Nelspruit.

Win A Home

What else can we all look forward to? Win a Home, South Africa’s favourite interior design reality TV competition is back for a fourth season, brought to you by Private Property. Hosted by SABC3 talk show Afternoon Express, viewers can watch Win a Home in its dedicated Friday time slot between 4pm and 5pm and stand a chance to win a beautiful cluster home at Eye of Africa Golf and Residential Estate to the value of R3 million.

JHB Buyer Show

The Johannesburg property buyer show makes its return to the City of Gold from 12 to 14 October at the Sandton Convention Centre. This event is the place to be for first time property buyers and investors. As a headline sponsor, Private Property is excited by the line-up of renowned speakers and revered property experts. Attendees can look forward to an innovative exhibition layout which will be designed to walk buyers through the property buying process – and includes the finance zone, property zone, a first-time buyer seminar theatre and a property investor theatre.

General Overview

The Caxton and Private Property partnership can best be described as a fruitful and exciting adventure. We have positioned ourselves as innovative business leaders in a rapidly expanding and flourishing business environment. We are proud of being a part of the process of business transformation and growth in South Africa.
